What is The Gathering for Kindness?

GOK USA brings together healthcare professionals and community members

to talk about the challenges to kindness in the experience of healthcare

We invite those who have chosen to become healthcare professionals

Our morning session will feature stories from Guest Speakers

  • Nancy Werteen & Kim Howie from The Wisdom Coalition and

  • Terry Burger, Chief of Infection Control at Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Also we have a live performance of the healthcare play "Hear Me" that addresses the tricky issue of medical error from a number of different perspectives. An interactive exchange of stories will follow on the topic of "Challenges to Kindness Part I" and will be facilitated by Dr. Lorraine Dickey & Vivian Foulke of The Narrative Initiative.



Our afternoon session will feature stories from Guest Speakers

  • Mohamed Latib, PhD, CEO of CX University and PX Academy and

  • Dr. Jennifer Stephens, Chief Medical Officer at Lehigh Valley Health Network.

We also have a showing of the short film "Watchtower" (British word for "Lighthouse") that gives a window into one couples challenges of addiction and recovery. Starring Alexander Vlahos from the series "Versailles" and Sophie Hopkins. Produced by CowHouse Films.
